Nikon Monarch 6-18x44AO - nice and small for it's mag range, and very good glass for the price.

We just went down to the LGS and walked out with the rifle in the link below It is chambered in a 17 HMR. Shouldered a couple of other rifles then shouldered this rifle and it just felt realy nice Bought three tipes of ammo CCI 17 GR V-MAXES HORNADY 17 GR V-MAXES AND CCI 20 GR GAMEPOINTS. I also so got a pair of sportsmatch mounts. What scopes would you recomend

Scope choice is personal thing. It really depends on what type of shooting and then price.
Do you want to keep it a light walkabout, a spotlighter or a light target/varmint?
Walkabout a 3-9x40
Spotlighter a fixed zoom in 6x to 12x (split the difference and go 8x) make it easier to estimate range without looking at the zoom ring everytime it is handed back to you (I leave the zoom mid range, another hunting buddy its alway at max and another it is always at min).
Target/Varmint 6-18x
Something to cover everything a 4-12x

Sweet pickup , especially how the time proven 452 will eventually be replaced with the new 455 . Cheaper/easier to build(polymer mag, slot-in barrel etc) I guess. Checkout this 455 vid lads.
