6BR load help

So i finally got a chance to run in and start loading my new BR ive loaded adi 2208 with rem 7.5 primers and a 58gr vmax i loaded them at 31.5,32,32.5,33,33.5. When the case has the powder in it ,it only looks half full but adi list 34gr of 2208 as compressed,i loaded them to .005 off the lands and all the groups shot the same with no clear preference to any of the loads but all shot accurate enough prob under MOA i think i needs HELP!!!

Also the cases have big powder burn marks on them
My COL is 2.175" to the tip of the vmax

2208 is a very slow powder for those 58 vmaxes, I run 32gns of BM2 behind mine.
The ADI book is a bit inconsistant. Try the 6mmbr site for a good guide.

Thanx mate dunno y i picked 2208 thought i read it somewhere do you use the BM2 behind the 58vmax's how do they go

Old mate who I go shooting with uses 35gr BM2 in his 6BRX- that would really be hooking the 58gr vmax out there! I would go with that or at least 2206H in the lighter pills. Also play with your seating depth. It may not even like the vmax that much- you can try the 55gr noslers and sierras if you want them shooting fast and flat

I've only shot two groups at 300yards one was 3/8" high and 2'' wide and I discovered my stock tracked like a banana When I moved it forward in the rest and restricted the recoil it shot a .752 (.25moa) group . They're certainly deadly on furry critters!

Can one of you guys measure a loaded round and give me a COL i think mine maybe way out mine are at 2.175" to the tip

Are you weighing these loads as 33.5 grains of 2208 will be well over half a case,should be closer to the base of the neck if anything.
Also 2219 is worth a try with the 58gners,I use 29gn's but this is a warm load so start lower and work up.

Each load was weighed out by hand on beam scales for every single case. The fired cases have heaps of soot on them tho is that an indicator of low pressure, with 33.5 it was no where near the base of the neck might have to check the scales

My barrel is a 1 in 8 twist with a long throat for the heavy pills so I've only got the 58s in far enough to keep them there, they measure 2.218"
load tuning wont make a huge difference to accuracy if something else is the limiting factor.If your not chasing benchrest accuracy it's more a matter of loading for the velocity you want.

33.5grains of 2208 in a standard 6mmBR should be pretty darn full!!!!

No where near full AI ive got another set of electronic scales ill take out just check the accuracy of the beam scales. If i moved up to a 68-75gr projectile would i be able to run 2208 or is it still to slow for that weight

Something doesnt add up,33.5gn 2208 is DEFINATELY going to be near a full case of powder as I alluded to earlier.
Grab a 58 projectile or 70gner and weigh it,what do the scales say it weighs.,know it sounds silly but the powder is definately 2208 isnt it.
And yes I have found that 2208 is sweet for the 65gn -70gn projectiles.
