It certainly was not by choice I guarantee you.
My compliments again on the dashers build up,you and Shane did a tremendous job.I have sent only a few rounds down(using 2208) and the accuracy is phenomenal.
I am quite taken by this new 6.5 rifle though, 8) .I hope my wife doesn't see that.
You are right about the March,it is very, very good.
Best of luck again, hope the weather is good for a change.

How did ya iso level up I had a bit of trouble with one that when it was torqued up it ran out of level when compared to a bubble put straight on the rail I had to take a little off the bottom of the upper section of that little hook bit the locks it up to get it sorted

Load development....

Had settled on 41.7grains of 2209 behind 123 scenar.. super accurate, good enough for head shooting gnome at 400m at canberra fly before Mr Clancy blew its head off with the 300ackley.. velocity 2886fps... no pressure at all, happy with accuracy and case life so no need to push harder. Using 2209 as its great for both this rifle and the 300WSM.

Just did some load testing with 142 Sierra Matchkings.... 2209 started at 39grains, and went up in 0.2's until 40.8. Ten loads total.

Also ran some over the chrony.
39.2- 2704
39.6- 2707
40.0- 2737
40.4- 2766
40.8- 2788

Here is a picture of the ladder test group, shot at 300m of bipods and rear bag prone. 1.8 grain in varience, and the group measures total of 36mm. It seems this rifle just dont care what goes into it!!

Image

There was no pressure visible at 40.8grains, no primer flattening, no hard bolt lift so will increase velocity up to arounf the 2800-2820fps. I will be happy with this.

Loads were moly and these may not be safe in your rifle so start lower.

AI, that is seriously good work off a bipod and rear-bag. Your rifle certainly likes the 142's! I'm not sure what to make of your ladder test results, possibly you have a low pressure/velocity node at the bottom of the black dot and then another higher pressure/velocity node at the top of the dot. You'll probably need to run the ladder again @ 500M+ to identify the best accuracy node. I need a 6.5x47 :D

Cheers,
Rath

PS: My Surgeon round count is now 713 and it keeps getting better, iPhone pic from range play:

Mate, I think it was only coincidence the group ended up like that. That is 1.4" group at 300m of bipods, and I would go out and say it does matter what load I put in the rifle within that range, it is going to shoot.

Going to load up some more and go have fun on critters now!!!

Load update...

41.2 grains 2209, moly 142SMK's. velocity 2810fps.

Shot this load at 600yd F Class to confirm accurate, very impressed with it even though low velocity.

As per usual, caution and work up to these loads, here and above!!
