is 22 magnum better on fox then a hummer?

title says it all. been thinking i might screw a 22 mag barrel onto my cz varmint for >150m fox work. the idea is for a fox whistling rifle but i could stop day dreaming and just use my 222 again

who's got/used one and what are your thoughts?

As for the question, of coarse the 22 mag is better. 40g v 17g. no comparison.

Yep, id pick the 22 Mag over the Fizzer, tryed em both and prefer the 22 mag... but then I prefer the 22lr over them both and if what im shooting is out of the 22lr's range then I take me .223 which i can relaod for the price of fizzer ammo and shoots twice as far!!

anyway i might take the 222 out next weekend and think about a 17hmr 22mag switch barrel jobie for the cz.

i got my 223 pump i haven't used in ages too but dont' reckon my property owners would be too impressed seeing it.

If you already have the 22mag barrel it would make a got fox gun, it has more energy and momentum but lacks the flatness of the HMR.
If you don't have the 22mag barrel, don't bother use the 222 it shoots much flatter & harder than the HMR. Much better suited to foxes.

I couldn't say Andrew. I know that there are blokes that use 22mag projectiles in 22 hornets and I don't think hornets are .224 but I could be wrong
