Info wanted on Mark Precision Optics.

Post by curan »

Hi all,

I am considering getting a Mark Precision Optics scope, 8-32x50, at a price that seems really decent.

It appears to be quite good.

Has anyone had anything to do with this make of scope?

Thanks in advance for any info.........

regards, curan

Have never seen a Mark Precision scope in any gunshop. As far as I am aware 'Mark' is an eBay seller who buys his scopes from Xinde Optical Factory in China. These people specialise in supplying 'Branded' product.

I bought one secondhand (10-40x) over a year ago.

Optically they are resonable at lower magnification - acceptable at higher magnification. For the price they are OK. I have observed a few blokes using them on F Class rifles. The one I have has been on at least 8 different rifles - it is currently on a 300WSM rifle whilst the 8-32 Bushnell 4200 is in the shop for warranty repair.

You get a reasonable scope that is defined by it's price. Everything works like it should, they are sufficiently rugged, just a bit dim and lacking optical resolution when compared with a scope many times their price. I can't see 7mm holes in paper @ 300m with the Mark @ 40x, but I can with a Kahles @ 12x. On a bright day, with simple targets, they are not too bad.

The one I have is what I would expect from a cheap scope - and I only paid $100 for mine. For a $100 scope it has become quite the floozy - moving from rifle to rifle as needed. It is reliable and that is a virtue for this scope. You may want to have a troll around eBay to see if you can find a secondhand scope from a more recognised manufacturer that will do what you need it to do. You may be surprised what you can find.

How good is this......

Two responses in under an hour, and both with good info. 8)

I'll have a closer look at this scope, but at least I'm a bit educated towards it now.

Thanks for the replies fellas.
