Why buy a 22fp pre-charged in .177.??
Better off with something with a pellet with a bit of weight.
Just my thoughts.
.177 reserved for target rifles and springers.

I have to second that.

.177 in a PCP at that power level is a waste. Might as well be pushing something that is going to hit harder, buck the wind better and be more humane.

Only reason to go .177 is if you are going to shoot field target with it, or purely plink like crazy.

A .177 at 22 FP is fantastic. You guys should try one .

Why is it a waste . A 10.5 grain Kodiak at 980 FPS sure belts rabbits and is great for long range pigeon shooting.

If looking to buy a HW100 i would go with .177 everytime as the .22's were only ever good for 25 -27 FP and only the higher level with 21 grain pellets and JSB's in the 100's never shot as accurate as i would have liked. 760 FPS with Kodiak .22's is a bit loopy.

I still like .22 the best but just not my choice in a HW100

Thanks for the replies.

I am in the U.S and my quarry would be mainly pest birds and gray squirrels ( 1-1.5LBS ) and cottontail rabbits ( which are ridiculously easy to kill ).

In other rifles .22cal at 28+ fpe would be a consideration but like the above poster stated, the HW100 in .22cal has too many actual owners having accuracy issues.

Thanks again for the input.

Hi William,

I have one and love it, out of the Air guns I have it is generally the one I grab first.
Accuracy is great, I have a VMach cylinder so get +60 shots.
Plinked a Myna bird at 70yds just the other day, then next shot got his mate along side him so it wasn't a one off fluke.
Can't speak of the .22 comparison.

Hope that helps.
