I can't find the thread that was posted regarding the 500m informal shoot at Little River, but I remember it was Saturday the 7th of November. Is it still on? All the planets have lined up and my good fortune is that I can actually make it!!!
Anyone else going?
Dave
Practice 500m fly shoot
Re: Practice 500m fly shoot
Yes
It is still on and I encourage as many of you to turn up. This is a great opportunity to give the fly shoot a try and have some of us who regularly shoot give some guidance.

Thanks Jugs, I'll see you there. I will need some of that guidance too!
What time would be best to show up?

I will also be there. I had a ball at the last match at Little River in October - it was my first shoot.

Re: Practice 500m fly shoot
Well the 500 metre fly shoot is an experience when the wind is a little tricky. Not a windy day but over 500m it makes a huge difference on the paper. By the last target I was able to get 4 out of my 5 shots in the scoring rings, which was somewhere in all the mirage!
The 6BR is up to the job but I couldn't have done it without some great coaching from Peter VM and Jugs. Thanks guys.

Re: Practice 500m fly shoot
Come out next time. No doubt it will be windy though and I'll be out of the scoring rings again.
Some nice rifles on the benches too. Mine was the only Clancy the rest smithed by PVM, being a 6.5x284, 6 Dasher, 284AI and another 6BR. All of us had Nightforce scopes in 12-42, two were NXS and the others NF series.
It did make me want to build another rifle. I liked that .284 and could imagine one in my safe.

Yeah Dave, im thinking about my next gun and yet i dont even have my first gun. Last Wednesday i sent my PAS SLV 308 down to PVM to get a new barrel put on it in 6BR, new stock, trigger the works. This will be my first full custom long range target gun and i cant wait to get it back.
For my next i was tinking along the lines of a .284AI. These 7mm's seem to be very good at long range 600+
