There really need to be more Tactical scopes with higher mags. I'm reckoning I'll want more than 20X for whats coming next...

I have a mate at work that works part-time as a consultant for Japanese interests and travels there at least 4 times a year.

I have been tempted to ask if he would take a tour of the Hakko factory. I think you will also find that there are only two factories in Japan and both are in the same province.

I think you will find that Hakko manufacture most line of scopes.

G'day, I just found this forum - looks good.
Hakko's are manufactured by Japan Optics Limited (JOL) and are their own brand - they also manufacture optics for Nikon, Pentax and a number of European scope brands. I've just started importing Hakkos into Australia - check http://www.accurateshooters.com.au/section_1.htm . JOL was restarted in 2005 by a group of people who worked for the original Hakko (means 'pure light' in Japanese) company. Download the JOL catalogue (5MB) and have a look at the Tactical Range. I can get any of these scopes to you for less than $1000 (in some cases substantially less) and they're as good or better than the big name brands.
Cheers,
Evan

I personally would not touch one - having trying to zero a mates rifle in at the range last week. Scope is Brandnew out of the box. It would not hold Zero at all. After five shots you just simply not adjust the scope it was just free spinning.. When you pay that amount for a scope you expect it to work out of the box.

Patto

Thats a bold statement, the scopes Lotto has are Jap scopes, made by the same people that make N/F and a stack of other very very good brands. Possibly could been a faulty scope, owner may have dropped it even
