I swapped the .25 BSA barrel back onto the JB OZ 1 Hornet and rough sighted it in at my home 25 metre range with Kodiaks.
At the present tune state (used for the .22 barrel) two of each pellet were chronographed .. 30.1 gr Kodiaks 828, 830 fps 46 fpe; 25.4 gr Exact Kings 892, 893 fps 45 fpe ( same MV as the highest I recorded with the same weight .22 JSB Monsters with the other barrel ).
First point of interest, the Kings registered 98% of the heavier Kodiak's KE despite the weight disadvantage of 84% ( Kings weigh 25.4 gr, Kodiaks 30.1 gr )
Secondly the velocity from the BSA is right at the top of my favoured zone of 850 to 900 fps. The rifle will tune to higher to say 48+ fpe for future comparisons.
Just one 5 shot group shot at 25 m 28 yd .. it measures .15 inch CTC as best I can tell. It's under that pellet. Shot standing with forward wrist rest on furniture and rear elbow against a wall.
As can be seen in the pic of the **"one-only" target shot, the King (middle pellet) is more like the Exact .20 cal 13.7 gr (right) than the 18.1 gr .22 pellet (left).
This weekend I hope to get to The Snowy Mountains to Moffit's Farm to test these at longer range. So far so good. ...... Kind regards, Yrrah.
** I justify "one-only" groups for certain tests on the basis that a "One-only" group of whatever number of shots - 3, 5, 10, 25 - is most likely to reflect and be representative of, what the average of many such groups may be. The chances of it being the best or the worst that can be accomplished is small. I often do "one-only" groups, as I did today with the new .25 cal JSB Exact Kings, to get a window into the possibilities ( and to save lead
