No mate,
Who knows, it may be commercially viable.
As for the signature, that is referring to Government subversion.

Sean

Re: What types of wildcats would you like to try?
I think I would like to try a 7mm wild cat made with necked down .338 Lapua Magnum brass. Either that or the new .338 Norma Magnum necked down to 7mm.

I also was thinking of such a cartridge (though finances at the moment prevent me from doing more than dreaming). The take off 204 Ruger barrel I have laying around is what made me think of uses for it.adamjp wrote:I reckon that a 20 Hornet would be about perfect mix of bullet weight and cartridge size.
The gents on Saubier don't seem to rate it that well though. Also very very close to a 19 Calhoon.
I'm in the process of building a 6.5 Grendel.
Ideally I would keep it at the lower pressure levels and have a quieter round than the 204 Ruger but something superior to the 17 HMR. Am really looking for a cartridge between the .22 LR and the .204 Ruger.
Another one I would like to try is a sub-sonic .50 cal, a 750 grain projectile at 900 fps still has a lot of energy and a bullet that large would not even need to expand to cause a large wound channel.

Perhaps something like this....wadcutter wrote:....a 7mm wild cat made with necked down .338 Lapua Magnum brass.
http://www.longrangehunting.com/article ... unting.php....7mm Fatso. This cartridge is based on a 338 Lapua magnum necked down to 7mm and shortened to the same body length as a Winchester Short Magnum. This creates the ultimate Short Magnum giving 7mm STW ballistics out of a lightweight short actioned rifle....

Re: What types of wildcats would you like to try?
Did some searching around and found that they rounds don't really work too well as the cases do not hold higher pressures too well compared to 220 russian cases. So looks like 20PPC but really do like the sound of either 17 or 20 hornet. Would be very cheap bunny gun.trevort wrote:pretty sure the beggs rounds are on unimproved 220 russian casesogre6br wrote:think they are called the .20 and 17 Begg or BeggsPlowboy wrote:I would love to have a crack at a 7.62x39(AK-47) necked to either a .17 or .20cal.

Yes, it is a good round and is pretty much what the yanks sell as a 6.5 Creedmoor.doidge5781 wrote:I assume this has been done b4 a 6.5/250 savage i couldnt find any load data on it. (anyone tried it)
I've got one of those and it is very very good. 55gn @ 3200fps, and 80gn at 2800fps from a 20in barrel.doidge5781 wrote:6x45mm

no, Hornady developed the case from scratch but it is very close from the pictures I've seen to 250 capacity but less taper

Re: What types of wildcats would you like to try?
might have been done but i've been pondering necking a 6.5 grendel to 20 or 22 cal and having, if i can be done, the rim on the case heads rebated to fit a 223 bolt face.
