Hi

The third 1000yd match for the year was held in Townsville today and it was very small field of shooters with only four of us there. It seems as the year is progressing that the conditions are continuing to be a challenge but some very good results were still posted.

Today saw plenty of mirage and very strong gusts on a switching tail wind that could move you from the ten ring to the edge of the paper in the blink of an eye and then top all this off with the smoke haze from a nearby bushfire and it made for some interesting shooting. The full results are up in the shooting results section however:

SG in HG was Jeff R at 6.5"
SG in LG was Alan N at 9.75"

Winning Results

Group Agg in HG was Jeff R at 8.475"
Group Agg in LG was Alan N at 9.825"

Score in HG was Jeff R at 185
Score in LG was Alan N at 79

Hi all , Al,thanks for running a great match, reports a bit harsh on the conditions ,i was going to say that they were just peachey actually ..A very consistant mild south easterly breeze whisping across at just the right angle with near perfect visability is what i was going to put up and now you've stuffed it.. But in reality it was f...in hard, like the rest of our shortened season is been..Good practice for Canberra next year.. Got enough for a 6 match at my worst ever ,just snuck in under 10ins at 9.45 with a 553.4 score , 1 more left ,ever the optimist ,hey.. Even though the Krieger is toast at only 1000 rounds i think it still has a low 4incher left in it ..JR..Jeff Rogers

I teed off on the first at Townsville Golf Club about the time you guys fired the first shot. Needless to say the wind carried the ball clear into the next fairway. I thought of you guys having fun with that wind as i did for most of the afternoon. A 6.5 inch group and 96 score in that crap JR is a 3 inch group and a 100.x in the calm stuff. Good to see the mods were worth the effort.

Looks like I picked the perfect day to sit on the beach and enjoy a coldie in Cairns, however I am clean out of excuses now, so will have to come out and enjoy these great shooting conditions for the rest of the year.

Glad too hear the beer was cold , sorry to hear about the chapped lips ,but i suppose we all have had to kiss up to the good wife once and awhile..warning don't use horse liniment on the sore lips, it could burn the lady's behind by the time u get back home..JR..Jeff Rogers

Hi TZ , You picked a good day to swan around the golf coarse..The gun is working after the rebuild , i was pleased with the result of the complete bare metal 2 yearly refurbish .to get it 9 shoting into 4.0ins after having every tiny little part of the gun pulled apart ,cleaned and reassembled was a very satisfying .. Naturally i could not have completed the job without your expertise ,thanks again and will repeat it again ,you need to put your prices up to everyone(so that you keep going, that is) .. Hell some of the TOFT harvester style gunsmiths work is charged out a alot higher and they wouldn't know a tenth of a thou if it bit em on the arse ..JR..Jeff Rogers

So Tony has quit shooting but not gunsmithing. That explains why his goodies come up for sale in little bits and not a massive clearance sale!

Just dont advertise any stuff I want until next year when I might have some money Tony!!!
