yes the FX semi auto Monsoon and the Revolution can be registered in all states as a Cat A air rifle.
The guns are quite accurate and on the feed back I have on both models is that they are reliable but with some TLC on maintenace.
They are pricey tho.

Re: FX-Monsoon semi auto
I just bought another Rapid from Lewis in .20 and now want another one in .22 but those Semi Auto's are interesting . They would be great for large numbers of Pigeons Ray.
Hows your Rapid going Ray ??.
Mine's doing 990 FPS with JSB and is very accurate very happy with it. Not sure if i like the MK1 stock as much as my MK2 .25 but it's still very nice
Regards
Chris

Re: FX-Monsoon semi auto
I have had the pleasure of using one, definately need to fill from a tank or you will have muscles in your shit
....................................tend to fire a lot of shots ,accuracy is outstanding not that I really know what to expect as I am new to this stuff but I was impressed.
I overheard a conversation that he was having with someone else and pretty sure that the safe keeping of the actual rifle was for like a H category or something like that, can purchase with a A license but the safe keeping appears to be different...at least in NSW.
Regards Chris.

Hi Chris,
Both my Rapids are shooting well mate My .20 runs at a good average 963FPS with the JSB and H& N Barracudas I use. The TTR is doing very well with 18.1 grn JSB,s after learning to fiddle around with it I have got it shooting at 30 FPE with the 18.1Grn JSB,s. it will be interesting to see how it shoots with the new 24 grn Wizard pellets when we get them.
As to the FX semi autos a mate of mine in NSW has the Revolution model in .22 he is rapt with it. he can drop crows out to 100 yds plus with it. They are quite powerful running at 34 FPE with 21 grn Kodiaks. He said that the guns are good but you must keep the TLC up to them.
cheers Ray.
Re: FX-Monsoon semi auto
Hi guys,
I highly doubt your mate is shooting crows out to 100 yards. Sorry Ray, im not trying to sound like a prick but i think your mate is telling you porky pies... i just find that very hard to believe. Its difficult enough to hit a crow at 100yds with a .22LR let alone a hi powered slug gun... have you seen this with your own eyes? Im not out to make you a liar, i just want facts, not stories like fishermen tell you "it was THIS big..." If anyone can verify this i would happily eat my words and shut the fuck up but i just can't believe an air rifle is capable of accurate 100 yards shots, 50 yds at a stretch i could believe but 'air rifle sniping' crows???
Like i said im not being a prick so dont take offence...
Your from Paralowie are you Ray? I grew up around that area: Parafield Gardens.
Are the FXs difficult to get hold of here in SA does anyone know?
Yeah i'd definately invest in a bottle and fittings if i were going to buy one of those...
So what size groups were you shooting with the FX Chris? And at what distance?
Thanks for the reply guys.

Re: FX-Monsoon semi auto
I have wacked crows to 113m with my Rapid .25 and pigeons to 91m with my Cyclone .22 set at 26 FP.
Most PCP are more accurate than the average .22 rimfire and shoot flatter to 100. Shooting at long range with a air rifle you have to be accurate with range estimation and wind does play havoc.
The Moonsoon is not mine and i have never used one. My other FX rifles Cycone and Excalibre are very accurate, The Cyclone has shot 9mm groups at 50m. I have owned a lot of PCP and FX are the most accurate and i love my cyclone ,accurate, powerfull, light weight, three power levels but i think Theoben are more trouble free, very robust and very accurate FX just shoot tighter groups.

Not a chance that a PCP is flatter than a 22lr out to 100m. PCP say you have a 25gn pill at 900fps vs 40gn pill at 1200fps. Not physically possible. Not to mention that even the best BC of an airgun pellet is close to the BC of the 22lr

mate do yourself a favor and do a search on a member here
Yrrah
and see the actual pictures of groups shot at 100m and much more with high powered air rifles
Yrrah has posted pics of groups at 155 yards shot with his airguns that most 22 lrs cannot do at 50 yards

AR6 shooting 28gn @ 1400+ fps.kjd wrote:Not a chance that a PCP is flatter than a 22lr out to 100m. PCP say you have a 25gn pill at 900fps vs 40gn pill at 1200fps. Not physically possible. Not to mention that even the best BC of an airgun pellet is close to the BC of the 22lr

It's not going to lose that much velocity over 100m - I'd guess it would still be going faster, even given the lower BC.

I don,t tell fish stories mate, do your self a favour and do a bit of reading, especially the stuff that Yrrah (all mentioned in the other posts here) he has been shooting long range with airguns over some years. the info will definitely surprise you.
I personally have shot MOA groups at 110yards with an FX Gladiator .22.That means a dead crow.
When you have shot your best 100 yard group with a good air rifle then tell me I,m wrong.
Enjoy mate,
cheers Ray

Re: FX-Monsoon semi auto ... for Hawkeye on 100 yd groups
Here is one series of ten five shot groups at a lasered 101 yrds: There were two other sub inch groups that immediately preceded these but shot onto a steel disc. That made 7 of the 12 groups that were sub MOA in this session. Note the two sub 1/2 " groups ( and so well under sub 1/2 MOA which is 0.529" at that range ):
Chris Thomas ( above ) was the first in the world known to have shot a sub inch 100 five shot group. He beat me by a couple of months back in about 2002. Now we have many throughout the world who have followed along and from some ten countries at last count.....
Here is a 50m / 55 yd group five shots shot at a benchrest rimfire shoot recently at Armidale SSAA. Officially measured at .141 inch ctc and the smallest group for the day. Shot with my BSA Hornet .22 air rifle.
As for Chris, my air rifles have shot numerous crows between 90 and 110 lasered yards. The necessary requirements are: an accurate air rifle ( there are many); the best pellets in the world ( there are very very few capable of this and Lewis Reinhold / Rob Potter are the domestic source ); a well researched ballistic trajectory chart; as with any rifle, time spent calibrating the scope and either collecting the BC data yourself or sussing it out from others; stable air or better yet a very light constant breeze; and of course the skills that weld it all together.
Two in a row at 60 lasered yards:
A rabbit shot at 152 lasered yards ( one of eight now shot between 138 and 152 yards with three different air rifles off that warren).
Don't feel badly about not previously being party to this inner world of air rifle performance Hawkeye. You are here now and you have the opportunity to be filled in with what the shooting public have no idea is happening ...... Best regards to you Hawkeye and safe shooting ....... Harry Yrrah .

Re: FX-Monsoon semi auto
I'll have to clear up the shooting flatter to 100 comment i made.
When i'm doing some long range shooting with air rifles i use a 50m Zero with my Rapid .20 and .25. From this i know i have to come up less MOA to 100m than i do with my .22 Rimfire Silhouette rifle from it's 50m Zero.
So sorry if i confused anybody i should have made it clearer
So Keith your sort of correct but as usual you use the know all jump down the throat approach
