Don't forget the .260 Rem mate, virtually equal performance and available in plenty of different rifles.

It seems as tho staff at gunshops are somewhat retarded after having the staff put the rifle in storage at the back of the shop on tuesday and returning on saturday to pick the rifle only to have them tell me they sold it on thursday. I had a look at a cz 550 in 6.5x55 pretty sweet looking gun can't find much in .260 does anyone know if howa's come in .260.

Re: need some help and input building a new rifle
So i found another gun this one now has a deposit laid on it and awaiting a PTA. It's a mauser 98 in .25/06 with monte carlo stock match trigger, floated and bedded with a jack miller heavy barrel. Im undecided at this point if i'll keep it .25/06 or re-barrel to 6.5x55. Ive never shot a .25/06 so will be interesting can anyone tell me about recoil and how it would compare to a 6.5x55.
Brad Y i did look at tikka's and was unimpressed was more inclined to go CZ 550 american except they couldnt get me one for 3-6 months
