I had the sinclair with various Mandrels and I replaced it with a K and M after lots of web research. I am taking Rinso's advice. Every new rifle in a calibre thats need turned gets its own Kand M set and never changed.
Neck turning, thats another post where I can give you the how to from the clutz's point of view. lets face it off work, not much else to do this week!

Keith, its a beautiful little round and you only need to do this if you want Lapua brass. Will it be more accurate? Hmmm rabbits wont notice! You only need to do this once, I enjoy it. Lap brass is tougher and you lose brass with loosened pockets and high pressure loads. Lap is meant to last longer.
Just neck down 221 fb and fire if your happy with rem or use 17fb factory brass if it fits your chamber.

wow, seeing the amount of effort going into that ill stick with my bog stock standard .17rem. Plus it goes faster
Very interesting to see the amount of steps required to form brass though. Much more patient man then i.

Good stuff Trevort...what kinda heat source did you use for the annealing ? I've got a 221 Fireball in the pipeline, and I want to make my own brass from ADI, or Lapua if the ADI stuff doesn't turn out well.

Mapp gas thingo from Bunnings. Search for Ackley Improved's posts with instructions. I sorta followed his advice with one variation. I put the shells in my sinclair shell holders and spin them in the drill so they heat evenly all round and then dunk that in the water. I've got two drills and two holders and had an assistant loading the drills up !!!!!!
The shell holder is stainless, just dry it off after, no rust.
