He makes them out of Colourbond samples, from Bunnings.

The big hole is just the original hole, he uses for the cord.

He has made dozens of them.

Each one has a different sound.

As you can see, he just makes them on the lawn. LOL.
What an awsome idea cause i have a few of those sitting on the bench after choosing colourbond colours for the roof on our renovations

Drew first blood with my Tenterfield on Monday, worked a bit too well one one fox, I thought he was going to try and nick the whistle out of my mouth!

Have read the posts several times. I take no convincing as to how effective the Tenterfield is.

Have had a look at YouTube of getting it to work, and will put some more time in. Though seems to be really easy once you fluke on the correct way to use them.

Have a couple of those EBay whistles made by Glen Coughlan + about to play some of his CDs when it gets warmer at night.

How have other users found the " double shottie" whistle?

Weribee: I bought one but don't like the sound it produces (I know it's more to do with whether or not the fox likes it but if I'm not comfortable using it I'm not going to).

Cheers

Jock you and your young fella are geniuses. I went in and got a quote for my new shed this arvo and got a couple of colourbond samples while i was at it. I used a 3mm and 4mm hole and it sounds very good. I originally had a 2.5mm top hole and it sounded a little too high pitched for my liking but i made a second one up with the 2.5mm hole. Who knows the red dogs might like it higher pitched.

Will give it a go one night this week hopefully, I can see my compound bow just asking to be taken along.

Just knocked one up myself and works pretty good for a first try! Looks rought but who cares eh? Might get a few more on the go with stuff around with different size hole to see what noise I can get out of em. Will try it on the red dogs when the wind dies a bit leter on. Dogs come in a big hurry though! Just one thing, do the holes have to be directly over eachother? My little hole is not quite centred on the bigger hole. Sort of get a bubbly sound out of it.

Well wrapped shitless with my whistle! Foxes I saw tonight thought a buffet had just been put on and come in runnin! Just out of curiosity how long do people find that a whistle is effective for on foxes in a certain area? My button one lasted about a month and then they started to get cautious and stay out of range. They still stop and look but will not move in.

Cool. By crap it can belt out some sound though! make my ears ring after a good belt! but yeah I reckon the one I am trying to get around home has cottoned on. She still hangs aroung but a soon as a light comes on she bolts. Never got a shot off at her but somebody else prolly has. Made up a couple more but they don't work so well so will keep trying.

Try getting a squeeky toy and making mouse sounds if she won't come into the light go to the newsagent get some red cellophane and an elastic band put it over the light and see if she comes to that! If she is spooked by the white light then the red should throw her!

I'll give the mouse noise a go but the spotties is pretty crap so will do that when I get another spotty. Gonna give her a spell for a few days and then try something different.
