I use a wolfeyes for walk about airgun/22lr stuff.
For walk around centrefire stuff a Lightforce 140 scope mounted light (Lance maybe?)
Spare I have a Lightforce 170 Hand held
Vehicle Lightforce 240 Blitz Suction cup mounted to the roof.

I know guys say powabeam and I can't say anything against them as I've never used one but the Lightforce does well for me and they are light light light.

Wolf Eyes sniper 260, Scope and Barrel mounts

170 Lightforce Hand Held that can also be mounted on my Suction cup roof mount
240 Lightforce Roof mount that is normally mounted on my Suction cup roof mount

The 2 lightforces above are about 25 years old and still going strong.

I also have another set of 170 and a 240 Lightforce HandHeld's that have been converted to HID
that I will use more in the future.

BTW - Just my HO, but you need to be careful with the 240's and inexperienced shooters
as they pick up foxes eyes so far away it can lead to trying to shoot at them too far if
you don't determine if it is a young fox close in or a big fox further out.

I use a lightforce 240 suction roof mounted, 170 rifle mpounted and a 9" powerbeam roof mounted..
Both the powerbeam and 240 will show well out past most peoples ranges.
Except for the unadjustable beam the powerbeam reaches further then the 240.
All are great lights.

How good are the rifle mounted spots, I have never done it or seen it done before? Is it easy to do, point the gun around everywhere. They are pretty small units nowadays so i don't suppose there are any adverse balance issues due to weight, what about range? Would be nice to be able to spotlight on my own :)

Sorry for the slight thread steal.

Mate I use the bigger 170 which some find unbalances their rifle.I mount one on a NF scope and really don't it an issue.
When shooting by myself I use the roof light to find, then switch to the rifle mount and "bang".
Works well for me but I have seen a lot of people struggle with where to have their rifle, driving etc.Takes a bit of getting used to.The smaller set ups are good but I like range of my bigger setup.I often shoot larger cals with this setup not just 223/22-250/6mm.I hate the big ones to feel left out.
