ok ok I'm hearing you.
This shop has done 3 free transfers for me in a few weeks with some other favours. Usual fee is $75 for an interstate transfer.
I want to buy an ag off them, keep them friendly. what other brands on normal LGS shelves would be better than Gamo, even if not in the class of the good stuff. She has a fancy looking tacticool styled thumbhole remington airrifle but wont sell me a scope with it as she has had every scoped one of those returned after the scope has failed (maybe I should get her to read Chris's post on AG scopes!!)

The next best thing would be a Diana. Don't ignore the 2nd hand rack either if its a quality airgun for a good price 2nd hand send it up to Lewis for him to work his magic on it and you'll love it.

One of two things will happen though -
You'll get a crappy air gun and hate it which you will then buy a good one or just forget it.
Or You'll get a good one and love it and just want a better one. Either way it doesn't bode well for your wallet LOL

I've made the first mistake once, bought a Henry lever 22 to try to get the boy keen on shooting. Thought the cowboy lever thing would add some fun. Turns out he's like me, wants to enjoy the trigger pull and hit what he aims at so the Henry disappeared. 2 yrs later he has step brothers, they want to shoot, they all want to shoot, wont miss a camping trip. Had to buy another 22 as HMR ammo was too dear for them to plink all day with! Bought a cheapie again though but a bolt stirling is more accurate than a lever henry (well in my experience of one of each)

accurate enough for tin cans and empty shoty shells!!! They scratched the crap out of the stock first trip so I am glad I bought a cheapie so I didnt stress. The Norincos are brno copys, stirlings have been around for ages, mate had a semi auto 20 odd years ago

I had a Gamo hunter 440 that I bought five years ago, had a POS trigger, but shot ok. Lewis tried to help, gave lots of good advise and guidance (pellets, hold, etc). But it all can down to that POS trigger.
I did purchase a Charlie da Tuna drop in trigger, and instantly shrunk the groups from 2inches to about an inch at 20m. The trigger was smoothed out alot and had a predictable break.
Not bad for $50 imported to my door.
