There is a good scope for sale in the classiffieds,4x16x40 4200 series...................I have from 12x through to 36x on some of my rifles and a good quality 16x power will be fine on the rifles that have been mentioned..................but if a little is good more must be better :D :D .

my mate just got a 3 - 9x 45 leupold, i love the quality
he also has a 3 - 15 or 6 - 15 x 50, (forget, something to 15) but the quality seems to get worse as you zoom in, its also leupold.
It shouldnt get worse or its faulty. Sounds like you arent adjusting the parallax as you look at longer distances with the higher magnification

There is a very nice Remington XP100 in .223 on usedguns.com.au at the moment. I think it was going for $750 with a laminated thumbhole stock.

Sorry that XP100 is $1750. I either read it incorrectly or it's a typo that's been fixed.

I'll put my vote in for the Savage but I don't know what sort of price you could get on one now. My VLP in 204 is looking like it is going to shoot pretty well. This is the first group I have shot with it during run in with factory Federal ammo. If a mug like me can put 5 into just over half an inch then it should do everything I want from it.

Cheers, Dror

I dont need to put my groups from the tikka in this pissing comp, there is a few members off here have seen my tikka in action and can vouch for the way it shot.

Dror- That group is alot less than just over half an inch.
Group is measured overall and bullett diameter subtracted, that looks .3-.4 to me.
