Re: Nth Rocks Benchrest and small bore comp
G'day Fellas,
For those that didn't attend you all missed a very good weekend at Hyland Road (which I am told was the last shoot for that range). The events were also managed extremely well.
It was also good to see such a large participation from the various clubs from within the state.
I only have results for the first three in bench rest (I am still waiting for the results for prone and field rifle).
A grade bench rest results are as follows
1st: Leanne Wyborn 600.50
2nd: Ray Richardson 599.50
3rd: Sean Ambrose 599.41
The top three shooters are from Sutherland Small Bore Association, Leanne and I were using the same rifle (Personally, I am looking forward to Leanne getting her rifle back from Mr. Clancy).
As soon as the B grade results are available including prone and field rifle I will post them.
Regards
Sean

I shot first detail and had to wait for Leanne and as I watched her through the spotting scope I knew before she had even got half way through the first target that it was all over.
I am now beginning to accept that I must walk behind her with my head bowed and that I must not venture out-side of her shadow.
I've created a monster, next season should prove to be very interesting as Leanne will have her Bruno back and I'm guessing that I'm in for a hammering.

You prone shooters have exceptional skill & fitness shooting the scores you do. I gave it a whirl 3 weeks ago (to see if I could still do it) and was sore for about three days. I used to shoot prone when I was younger (20 years ago) and since then have been disappointed with myself for not staying with it.
That Bruno will be the resurrection.
All the best
Sean.

Hi Sean , enjoy the Bruno and its good to see your comming back to the mound. Yeah i still hurt every now and then from doing the lying down stuff , but i really do enjoy it. I just wish i started competition shooting 20 years ago instead of 6 yrs, as you get to meet alot of people , make some friends along the way, talk an obsene amount of Bull Sh#t , have a BBQ, and if your shooting well on the day take home a prize or two. Besides after a week at work its always good to get the itch out of my finger ! Cheers Ron

Re: Nth Rocks Benchrest and small bore comp
G'day Ron,
I had the Bruno at the range last night and shot it from the bench, I managed to shoot a 197 using Lapua Midas 'L'. I am pretty impressed given that it was the first time I had used it and not all that familiar with it (the three shots that dropped were due to me not being overly familiar with the trigger-its a little sensitive). I will send Leanne off to the range on Sunday with a box of R-50 and see how it goes.
Regards
Sean

Re: Nth Rocks Benchrest and small bore comp
Hi Sean , thats excellent shooting 1st time out, I never touched the trigger but it feels good, maybe the previous owner put a biro spring in it. I cant wait to see some prone scores now, if you get a 197 il buy it back off you . Cheers Ron
I didnt go to the range tonight to fix Mr Howard with money and bi pod, too cold and State of Origin is on. Il see if i can get a run down botany way in the next couple of days durring work hrs.
