Due to a club committee request we (Tamworth & Peel Valley Rifle Club) will not be holding a SOTY leg this yr. Our shoot will be a club shoot as per normal.

My hope is to have it on the program for next yr.

My Apologies to travellers for any inconvenience.

I will be sending out a email to those that have sent me.

I will endevour to hold a leg in 2010.

Mate just a suggestion and you can ignore it but why dont you come to one of the current SOTY Fly matches and see how it all runs.

Would love to thanks Rinso, at some point i hope to get to Canberra to watch a fly and have a shot of course

, and i believe there is another one later this yr with a 1000 yd on after it so it would certainly make coming down worth while for me.

I will make it work next yr and and it will be advertised.So as that everyone even the people that are not reading these forums can see when it's on.

hello redmist i got your email for the directions thank you should be able to find the range ok how many shooters are coming for the fly shoot ? how many can you have at the shoot ? i have a friend who would like to come and try his 308 w at 500m do you think there will be room for him - don't reply by email because i'm having problems with optus at the moment and can't get my mail at all from them -- just reply on board regards john mc

Just like to say big thanks to 243 Redmist for making the old man and myself very welcomed for the Fly on the weekend. We had a great time and think the old man is still smiling for getting a place in factory with the old swede

Was really happy with how the omark went for its first competitive shoot and have to say the range would have to be one of the trickiest around and in quite hard conditions on the day but in a top spot. Will definetly try and get up there again even if the scorer's pinged me for my warm up shot on the fly target in the A detail

eh thats shooting.

That is if you'll have us again

Kenny I ended up with 69

for my 3 targets, should have been 79 but I put a warm up shot on the far side of the fly target during warm up

and it cost me 10 points (6 group and 4 points) would have been my best group. A sub 5 inch for my first time with the omark in those conditions put a smile on my face, think there was less than an inch in vertical so was very happy.

Top score was around 120 points and was one of the heavies and also shot an 8 point group for best custom group I think.

Looking forward to the next time, pity can't make leeton.

G'day Ryan & John

It was a pleasure to meet you & your old man Ryan.And your most welcome to visit again.(i'll let you know when we are doing a F-Class shoot at 600M and you can bring the Omark up for another blatt.It shot very well and a few blokes thought it was a piece of art work.)

Also it was a pleasure to meet you John Mc you shot very well in the conditions.

It was certainly not the best conditions for a Fly shoot.Far from it really, but alot of laughs were had buy all.

Over 3 targets results were not world beating, but true to the conditions.Even the experienced shooters had a time picking the wind.I sure know i was using my full vocabulary of swear words.

Factory Varmint.

Local young hot shot Rossco top scored for the class with a 53.Shooting a factory Savage 223 with 80gr Noslers, punched a impressive best group for the factory class.

Ryans old man Ian with a swede was 2nd with a 27.

And a another local Trevor with a 13.Using a Ruger Varmint in 308

Custom varmint.

Mitch shot a top score of 125 with a heavy 3006 imp

2nd was Flintstone with a 100 with a 300wm

3rd was john Mc with a 89 shooting his light gun in a 6.5 x ? ( sorry john i can't remember what case yours was.

)

All in all we had a great day with 14 shooters and we hope to improve on that at our Oct shoot.And also get in 5 targets.

And BRT (stuart and Annie) for supplying the Custom varmint best group prize..30 cal Pro shot rod

I always think its a bit ugly It came looking how it does minus the scope. It has proved capable though and the old black mountain barrel seems to be in pretty good nick.
