Compact spotties
Compact spotties
Does anyone use rifle mounted spot lights.
I saw one advertised which was about 10cm long anr maybe 5cm diameter. Reported 100 range but what about field of view.
I want to spot light on foot by myself.

Have a look at http://www.wolfeyes.com.au" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; you will find exactly want you want there field of view included. To give you a preview look at the post in this section titled "Wolfeyes mounting" you will see a couple of the torches mounted on rifles etc.SWIPER wrote:Does anyone use rifle mounted spot lights.

Any thought on clamping a torch to the barrel, could it affect accuracy?

G'Day Swiper,
Just noticed this, Big thanks to all the guys who mentioned us here. I sell them Swiper, so take everything I say with that in mind.
To make it easy feel free to call and have a chat about this on 1300 911 007. If you would prefer to let your fingers do the walking on the net, this link: http://wolfeyes.com.au/wolf-eyes-sniper ... p-128.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; has a heap of info including a photo of the beam at 100 metres. The torches are 25.4mm (1") body size and 13cm long, so just like a big fat texta. Weigh 150 grams and battery lasts 2 hrs 20 mins. The beam pattern is all about target acquisition, so has a decent hotspot surrounded by lesser flood. The idea being to aim the hotspot on your target, but if it moves it moves into your dim flood, not into darkness, as it is slow to search in darkness with a pencil beam.
If you need more info, ask here, email me glen - AT - quarterflash.com.au or call.
Cheers

That's it, I've had enough of this.
Been trying to tell myself that I didn't need one.
Glen C, I'll ring you in the morning - early!

He He Infectious is,nt it mate,I have 3 and counting!
Re: Compact spotties
I am looking forward to one too.
From what I can see they run off special AA size batteries. Could a regulated bank of batteries provide longer use? Obviousley they would be larger but if you look closely at the cells powering electric remote contol cars, they appear to be several batteries taped together. I imagine some circuit to regulate the current would be required.
I am electrictronically handicapped so I might be totally off the mark.
Trishbob, whats a spare battery worth?
