Just get the trigger worked if you feel it is needed.... even if you don't think you like the two stages, keep using it cause once you get used to it you'll love it!!!
I also have the same rifle in .223. I found mine benefited from being glass bedded and having the trigger lightened by a smith. Mine has a 1-9 twist tube and I found it to be very ammo fussy. In fact I never did find a factory load that shot better than 2moa... but with handloads it's a real tack driver!! especially with 55grain nosler ballistic tips.
I'm sure your going to really enjoy that one!!!

Thanks guys for your comments. Just scored a set of Redfield Ruger high mounts in Nickel matte finish for $14 posted from the U.K. on E-bay they have others for sale, if you Ruger owners need some take a look. Now I can put my 4-12x50 AO on the .223.

Hi Luke 5381,I have a 6-24x50AO as well but think that the 4-12x50AO will be better for spotlighting. If I start using it for long range bunny busting I may put on the bigger scope. I want to try the Varmint Grenade Barnes bullets on the bunnies, their video is pretty convincing as to the destructive power. I always thought that the Hornady SX bullets were good when I had my Remington 700 .223 but Barnes bullets are something else.
