Bulk Order of Taipans SN 40g, 45g and/or 50g.

Post by Werribee »

It seems pretty common knowledge that one, there are supply problems with are reviewed as being excellent bullets, and secondly it appears from going to Malcolm Bone's website that he will only sell in BULK ( shout intended) as that is the only way he can achieve economies of scale.

Any views about putting bulk order together for Hornet, yes quite a few still shoot this very versatile calibre,.222 ,.223 and possibly .204.

May be difficult to co-ordinate and would need honourary treasurer, but it is about the only way I can see these bullets being available. Say purchase 1,000 in each of your preferred calibres.

Have been thinking of something along the same lines Robert, a few ideas to kick around the Admin crew here - might get a chance to do something about it over the next few days.

If you guys can get some sort of system set out I will be happy to do a Tiapan order drive up and get it from them then send them out but will need to be a few thousand pills.

I might be interested, if someone has any 40grainers I could try I might be interested in them even 6 would do. Do we have an estimated cost like is there a general $ per 500 that we know it will be or less than this?

If Everyone can get together a tentative order I will get a up-to-date price list and do a costing. Remember Tiapan projectile supply is fairly sporadic so dont expect to be able to get what you want but I dont want to send 20 emails asking for this that and then some thing else. I will also post this on Australian hunting net. And see what sort of response we get there.

So just post the Product code and quantity up here in this thread and we will give it 2 weeks from now to see what's wanted.

Current retail prices and product codes in link below (This dont mean there are in stock or even to be produced this year)

Postage will be as follows
.5kg $6.50
3kg $12.50
Express (includes tracking number)
.5kg $8.50
3kg $12.50
5kg $20

I've used the 130gn .265" HPs in my 6.5x55 and they seemed pretty good accuracy wise, tho I couldnt get them to reliably feed from the mag, however I think I had them seated a little far out, as they catch on the chamber mouth a little bit. I've got some 40gn .224" HPs too if someone wants a try, brought them for my .222 and .222 Rimmed, havent run them through mine yet, but they look pretty good, and especially for the price.

Guys - so Richard doesn't end up regretting his offer of organising a bulk purchase from Taipan please follow his request.

Go to the link he has posted, select what you want and simply post the Product Code and Quantity Required so that he can make the initial enquiry as to cost and availability.

If you want to do bullet swaps etc please do it in the correct forum ... Bullet Swap Meet

Let's do everything we can to make this work and not turn it into a shitfight that nobody can sort out!!

Remember, no calibres, bullet types or weights to be listed, ONLY Product Code and Quantity

The only acceptable variation (which lists bullet weight/type) will be a c&p of the listing from the Taipan product list which includes the Product Code.
