Opinion on a rifle
Hey guys,
I was just wondering what you guys think about a rifle i saw on used guns - the cz 527 223 with the custom stainless varmint barrel. im currently in the market for a 223 rifle and i thought it might be a bargain. (i dont have that much money to spend being a poor uni student!) being a new shooter i dont know that much so hopefully i could get some experienced opinions. thanks in advance
cheers
Chris

Re: Opinion on a rifle
Chris, where is the rifle in relation to where you live? I was semi interested in a rifle off used guns a little while back and made inquiries about the postage and tranfer costs and it would have added about another $80 bucks to the equation. Being that you are of limited funds its something to remember.

Re: Opinion on a rifle
just had a look, if that was being sold by a forum member and I could trust the history (like rounds thru barrel accuracy claim) and knew who did the work (so i had an opinion of the quality of workmanship) I would buy it.

Re: Opinion on a rifle
if it's the one with $650 on it - a new match barrel is more than that for the barrel cost alone these days
and if the barrel is long enough- it's round count isn't really ans issue as a quick re-chamber job will get you into new metal without much loss of barrel length
P
but crap some of those guns have got tickets on emselves the pricing on them- what a load of crap

Re: Opinion on a rifle
For $650 its probably worth buying. Its a CZ with a stainless varmint barrel and you won't get a better deal than that. Depends also on how long you want to look around.

Those links want us to sign into something microsoft based
Last time I saw them for sale Ruger VT factory barrels went for about $350-- a gunsmith in NSW used to advertise them a lot- peter kay I think his name was
Never owned a Ruger VT- so cannot comment on barrel quality or otherwise

Re: Opinion on a rifle
looks like its done some work, blue worn off the bolt knob but then thats why its been rebarreled!
Offer him $575!!!
Its probably worth $650 but its not a screaming bargain!
