CZ 527 .223 or somehting else
Just trying to decide on a .223 rifle ive read a heap of posts and am thinking a CZ american is something like i want. ill be buying it with in 2 months and am budgeting around $1500 less is fine
looked at heavy barrelled rifles but cant really see it being a good idea considering i want to walk around with it and some shooting will be off hand and from what i get they are more a set up somewhere and shoot ? although id like to experiment shooting longer range, only ever used 22lr and a 3030
ive considered the tikka's closely to but cant see much if anything in it although the cz seem to be on average lighter. but the tikka have a floated barrel all reports im hearing rate them both well.
probally going for a 4-12ish scope maybe slighly more (16). will buy from opticzone if that will save me some $
Thanks

Re: CZ 527 .223 or somehting else
both the varmint versions in CZ and Tikka arent very heavy. I have owned a tikka and liked it. I currently own two customised CZ 527s and honestly reckon they are one of the best factory rifles for the price. try them for weight before you decide. Thomo had no trouble whatsoever headshooting 100m rabbits offhand with his T3 varmint 204, then he is a fairly big bloke tho!
If you buy a varmint profile CZ I can let you have (very cheap) a sporter CZ stock that has had the barrel channel opened up to take a heavier barrel. I had my CZ 223 varmint barrel fluted and bedded in a sprter stock and it made a beaut little carry around varmint pinger! Knackers owns that barrel now.

Tiop, if you could call god on the telephone, he would tell you that if you want to get into heaven then a CZ should be at the top of your list. Seriously they are well made, floated as well, the set trigger is excellent and something every other maker should offer with their rifles, controlled round push feed ( tikka's dont have it) and don't forget the detachable mag. they also come with free factory made scope mounts which which are very sturdy. Yes I'm bias.

Sorry about the intro.
I think S/S is about $1,500.
Blue is $1,400.

thanks people
i must admit the sako looks good but will push me well over budget id think and looks to me like it doesnt even come in .223 lol
ill have to find somewhere that has some cz's in stock so i can have a feel and make a good decision, or even just the tikka as far a wieght is concerned regaurding the heavy barrels both are about 3.6kg.

The CZ527 is a fine rifle.
Barrel floated from the factory and with an awesome set trigger standard.
I have the sporter in 204 and I love the thing.
Buy one.

Another vote for the CZ! But I'd go a heavy barrel, I've got a sporter but I'd like a heavy barrel for it.
