New BR rifle!

Post by Ackley Improved »

I have been wanting a rimfire BR rifle for some time now, and was just starting at looking at having one put together.

It was just luck that this one become available whilst I was considering the build, so I bought it!

Stolle Swindlehurst action
McMillan Edge stock
Lilja barrel
Jewell trigger

The big loading port is a good idea, as it makes it easy for insertting the rimfire rounds. All I need now is the Weaver T36.. and away I'll go!

Although rimfire BR shits me to tears, it is a load of fun. Also since I travel to as many 500m Fly matches as I can, some ranges also shoot 200m rimfire fly. This rifle be be perfect for it.

Anyway, here are some pictures of it!

Your hopeless Trev.

I have a Silver T36 which will come off the the 6x47L (replacing with NF 12-42) but I will probably keep it for a Heavy gun build I have planned.

1kshot... If you have a rifle to cover all comp's.. you cant miss out on any that come up! Once all my builds are complete, I should be able to shoot near all.

Since I work shift, and lose weekends, I shoot whatever comp's I can. This rifle will just make another available to shoot! My main interest is long range BR.

Rinso.. you dont put a T36 on a HG... GAY.. it needs another Nightforce... or a March! Sell me that T36 please... what do you want for it? SEX? Hey, how do you go getting to 200m with the T36? Do you fall short an need a shim or MOA added to the rings/base? I need to work this out. Whats the minimum focus distance on the T36 as well?

Jimbo.... CORRECT...
"That looks suspiciously like the one that Les O'Rourke had for sale.....".. the key word is "HAD". You know anything about this rifle? He said he has shot it bugger all. Either way it will do more than I ever will be able to achieve. What projectiles you running in your PPC's these days? I am still a new hat to this PPC stuff, as I said above my main interest is with long range, but I need to just get into it!

Ogre6br... the Edge is really a short range BR stock used on PPC's. Weight, I am unsure.. but it will be heavy. With scope, just under 14lbs I am guessing.

I am really looking forward to having a crack with this rifle!

Bring the tears and frustration of rimfire BR.....

My apologies to Chris.Tyne.....

Cheers

Mate dont apologize as I reckon your will love it :D,the stock would most likely weigh less than 30oz with bedding unless it has weight added of course,be interested to know the weight as is likely less than 10lb,as it is you will use it in custom class at BR shoots and fly which is 14lb limit.AI if you can get it printing around 20-24 inches high at 50mtr's with subsonic it should be close at 200mtr's,you are gonna looooooove this rimfire stuff I can tell.AI the T36 will focus down to at least 25yrds.

Regards Chris.

AI,

Yes you do put a T36 on a Heavy gun when you are a poor bastard like me. But if you are that desperate the young bloke says he will trade the T36 for your March (but only if you haven't put ring marks on it)
I have had no trouble getting to 200 with the Weaver and have not heard of anyone having a problem either. Focus is to 10 or 25 yards I cant remember and can't be bothered going and checking when you can look for yourself on Saturday.

Rinso... tell the boy just maybe.. and just maybe.. if he beats me at the Fly, I'll let him look through the March!

I wont be this Fly as I am stuck at F*CKING work! The next Fly shoot hopefully I can swindle(hurst) the time off, and by then I will have the new Dasher up and running at full speed! Full "wank pack model" rifle!

Kenny, when I had my little Annie rimfire, when I went to the local range and practiced, it makes you think about self harm! Rimfires drive me mad.. and I am guessing it will do it all again! Nothing like looking down the scope and seeing the shot through the air.. and when in the air seeing it didnt take the same path as the others beforehand, which means it aint in the f*cking group. You can swear before it hits the target! Love it....

What are guy rimfire BR guys running through your rifles? EPS?

I really cant go wrong with this rifle, or the price I got it for!

Cheers

AI,--- that's just the sort of rifle I was looking at to get back into rimfire Fly. How the hell do you get onto all this great stuff ? Excuse me for being callous, but if you ever decide to get rid of it --can I have first dibs on it ?
PS how did the boys go at Canberra this weekend?
