Thomo's got his targets also and I believe a new secret weapon.
I'll go to the range this Wednesday to verify the 250 and then it's wait for a cool and still day.
Maybe even buy a box of premium ammo!
I haven't been overun for requests for targets from the rest of you fellas - c'mon have a go - its just for fun!
Re: AUSVARMINT FIELD SHOOTING COMPETION -Just for fun!
I dont think it will be here by the end of the month Stewie,
When we get a cool change il go and shoot it with the 308, if the new one turns up can i request a new set to shoot with it?

Re: AUSVARMINT FIELD SHOOTING COMPETION -Just for fun!
Allright il will go and shoot it with the 308, which is a Varmint rifle.
I will return the target to you and shoot a new round with my skinny barrel 6.5 1908 swede.
Hell its been that long since i had a blat i might even punish myself with a volley from the 338.
Perhaps we should make a time and you can witness the shoot out at "the spot" so i can do all three rifles on one day.
That is of cours providing we get a day under 44 some time soon

Hate to spoil the party fellas but in nsw it is illegal to shoot targets anywhere but at an approved target shooting range so this can not be shot on a farm or out in the bush. For your interests firearms registry considers anything other than an animal to be a target, yes this includes clays if you have your own thrower,it also includes dirt mounds all the metal plinkers you find at your lgs, the farmers grain sylo, car, water tank and anything else you can think of. Sorry fellas
Re: AUSVARMINT FIELD SHOOTING COMPETION -Just for fun!
Ps no i dont shoot the car, sylo or water tank but some retards do

I'd be interested but the SSAA range at Belmont only lets you go out to 200m.
Also another suggestion, why not let people download the target off the site and print them off. It will save postage one way.
Sorry for the criticism but I love the initiative.

Juzz- I think you are taking it a bit to far with this rule.
I have not read or heard of such a rule but what you are saying is that it would be illegal to sight in your rifle on a property prior to hunting, that would be unethical.
I dont disagree that it would be illegal to run a competition shoot with several people on a block of land that would say be counted as a mandatory shoot to satisfy licence regulation.
But this is not what this event is about, you have the rite to shoot paper targets on your property if you see fit and it is within the nominated minium size to do so.
I would be interested to see if you could post a link to the said ruling.???
Boy's go blaze away.
Regards

I had a go at doing this - I'm a bit computer all thumbs with scanners and such - but not much successSimpson wrote:

Then it occured to me that some of the targets are A3 size (200 & 300 metres) and not too many people would be able to print targets out. Postage works out at about a $1 - not really a big deal in the scheme of things.
I appreciate your support but do wish more site members would have a go because it is - "just for fun"
Still plenty of time to pm me though, as the comp finishes last mail Feb 28th.
