so i guess its not a bad start....

i only had twenty rounds to play with, and the 204 seems to take 10 shots to properly foul the barrel...

needing some advice here: i had to wind the crosshairs all the way down (to move the point of impact UP), is this common? will a 20 moa rail fix this? (i'm just using the cheapo that came with the rifle.)

I reckon something is wrong there rjt, you should have at least 24" of elevation, 12 up and 12 down. how high are your mounts?
Try swaping the mounts from front to back (is it possible) to see if this changes the elevation.
On any of my rifles(centrefires) if I wind any of the scopes as far up as they will go, they will all be 12-20 inchs high at 100 yards.

such a simple idea, awitching the rings around... why didn't i think of trying that?

wont be able to get a shot off for a fortnight (atleast) so it'll have to wait. will let you know how it works out though.
