22 Hornet and 30gn Turton pills

Hi everyone,

I now have three 22 Hornets in the stable (BRNO Fox, Sportco Hornet and a Martini Hornet), and have acquired some Turton 30gn projjies.

These are some of the ones made of the recycled 22 cal jackets.

Anyway, I am trying to work up some loads for this rather large cavity, dumpy looking, hollow point.

The ADI manual lists a start of 10.5gns to 11.6gns of 2205 for the 35gn Vmax ( which I use).

Just putting it out there for opinions on the matter.

Chrispy, got no loads as yet, but where did you get the pills from? I'd like to try some in my martini hornet.

I have used the Turton 30 grainers in my .222. I used a load I got for the 35 grain V-Max.

They are explosive on rabbits , but I have only used them at close range, so I don't know about long range. They are so cheap compared to American bullets.

I get them from Tom Turton at the Penrith gun shows. The kids love watching him make them at the table.
