Pain in my a**

My Super Streak is a pain in my a**, I'm probably going to return it. I have decided that a Beeman will be a better rifle for it's known accuracy and reliability.

I have narrowed down the Beeman Heavy Target Rifle and the Beeman RS2.

Hi Fritz,
IMHO I reckon the gun to go for of the 2 is the Heavy target rifle. It should have a little more power output than the RS2 model,plus a better stock and barrel setup.
These rifles I believe are made by Norinco (Spain) for Beeman to their specs, they are usually a quailty AR in their class.

So what is it about the SS that's annoying you?

1) I tightened everything down and ALREADY lost a stock bolt.

2) It's power is over advertised, my D34 drops squirrels quicker than this.

3) It's inaccurate

4) It's heavy (not that big a deal)

5) The scope it came with doesn't hold a zero

6) The iron sights are a waste of time because they can't adjust enough to sight it in.

7) The trigger is horrendous, I cock it, load it, pull the trigger 3/4 of the way and put it on safe. The trigger pull is that bad

I'm not impressed with the stock, it has a lackluster finish on it.

9) It's loud as f---.

10) It's very long.

I hate to say it Fritz, but most spring airguns are overstated in the power dept. The link I posted to the Pyramidair review pointed that out.

I'm not surprised by the vibration and recoil aspects shaking things loose - a long spring, heavy piston, poor fitting of guides and poor factory lubes are all together in that problem.

As for the other problems, well it is low priced for what is claimed. Put it this way, if a company like Diana have problems with the 350 Magnum recoiling, vibrating and killing scopes what chance does a Chinese company have with a cheaper product expected to perform the same?

There seems to be a limit to the power a springer can dish out, above which it just becomes a PITA - the HW80 / R1 rifles seem to be about it.
