vic champs 10m air rifle

i participated in the vic champs AARA ( australian air rifle association) 10 meter air rifle on the weekend and managed to get:
- gold , junior overall
-gold junior in B grade
-bronze B grade overall
and also a bronze for a B grade team..

shot a score of 526/600

Well done Andrew.
I've been shooting 10m air for a few years now. I have never shot in a match, and just as well cause I have only got 500 once. Didn't help starting shooting 10 meter late in life ( I'll be 59 in a few weeks ).

Very nice, I'd like to try a competition shoot but I don't have the money to spend on a super accurate gun like a Beeman. I could do mid-range shooting with my Diana (like 30 meteres) though because I can hit like 1.5cm groups at that range off a bench. With some practice I could do good standing or crouching, my degree of accuracy in those is just enough to hit a squirrel.

well this years comp was held at at club called teutonia which is just out of Cranbourne.. aprox 45 mins from the city..
the vic champs is at a differend clup every year but there are alot of other comps in between..

i shoot a fwb mod 300 in left hand. .177

Well done Andrew. The FWB 300 might be an older rifle, but they work well.

Have you ever had a crack at air rifle silhouette? The FWB should have enough grunt to do it, and with your 10m score, you should do pretty well. You may just have to talk to Lewis about pellet choice.

where abouts in victoria are you because there are 7 clubs around vic and i should be able to tell you the closest one to you ..



curan no i have not tried silhouette but i have always wanted too, just dont know where i could do it as my club is only got a 10 meter indoor range...

Ah Andrew, you gotta find somewhere around you that shoots an AR silhouette match!

It is great fun........even with those microscopic targets

Enjoy your sport mate, and I hope a couple of our Vic AV members can give you some hints on where you can go to knock over some sillywets. Mind you, with those 10m scores, they might be scared you're gonna show them up!!
