well done Leanne. Sean keep up the 'support crew' role
My Kerrie does her safety course in a couple of weeks and my excuse for another clancy rifle was 'so she could have a go' if she comes with me. Reading this, I must make it some sort of big magnum that kicks the crap out of her or I'm gonna be embarrassed!!!!

Trevor,
For the same reasons that you described was why I introduced Leanne into the sport, I thought it would always be easier to justify a new rifle if she knew that she was able to use it. I also think that strategically it is one way of ensuring that our sport does not perish by involving our wives, fiances and girlfriends. Its about winning hearts and minds.
(Women love to gossip amongst themselves and in saying Leanne has friends that have already signaled they would like to try shooting).
It makes it almost impossible for the anti-gun Zealots to grind from their organs their rhetoric when ordinary Women stand up and denounce their claims as garbage.
(kind of like laying an ambush and hitting them at their lowest ebb).
I was a little concerned with her choosing a .308 as her first center fire and being belted by it at the last Fly shoot in Canberra, although she handled it pretty well. Driving home I gave her the history of the .308 and its designation as a military caliber, its use in big bore and finally why it was retired. It really made her day, if not more determined when I informed her that there are men out there who can't handle the .308.
Anyway hope to see you both at the next shoot in March.

Thats a very good reason for all of us to get our partners, married, defacto, sisters, daughters, aunties into the sport.I also think that strategically it is one way of ensuring that our sport does not perish by involving our wives, fiances and girlfriends. Its about winning hearts and minds.
