Tim,
Rinso, it's up to you to get organised and get there, we'll have to work on dg to come along and while we are at it, we should work on the yowie and dick to come along.

Sounds like a convoy
Mate sounds like a plan but do you think those poor Nth Qlder's deserve Mick & Dick ??? or would even know what to make of them ????

Jeff,
Everytime you bloody southerners come up here you bring the crap weather with ya ..It will be 20 to 30 knots following breeze from 30deg over the left shoulder to 30deg over the right shoulder in a blink
We like to bring a bit of Canberra to everyone .. its called sharing the pain

cheers

TZ,JR,

His eyes are definately not focusing properly...the better looking ugly sister....jeez

Ya better ring the 'beeootifull' one (aka Slacker) back and give him the rundown on 7mm verses 30 cal...he reckons he might buy a 7mm tube after seeing the AV shoot...he 'needs' discouraging from that I reckon

Rinso,
Mate sounds like a plan but do you think those poor Nth Qlder's deserve Mick & Dick ??? or would even know what to make of them ????
I reckon the 'Yowie' would scare the shit out of most of em....might be an advantage for us Southern folk

Hey Kenny, you gotta keep away from that 9.3 stuff as it is just real crap. All your competition should just go to the 6.5/284 Lapua brass as it just offers so much more

By the way, what was the load you used on the weekend? I hear you gave some PPCs a real scare at 200.

And Kenny, if you reckon the 7 mil version is good, the 30 cal version is just way better again. Chalk and cheese mate. Trust me, i'll bet my bib and brace overalls on it. And when you eventually put that tube on, oh mien gott

TZ,

It did look promising for a bit, being a local match it's really just a fark around. It was a typical horrid day with the wind near blowing the flags over as usual.......there was an inch of movement at 100yds anyway  I only had enough loaded rounds to use for scoring shots with fireforming loads for sighters..so it was pretty disasterous with a 2" impact difference  I will give the PPC's a flogging next time for sure.

I was running 52gns with a 20 thou jam....

I am hanging for a nice day so I can try and tune it a bit more...I dunno if I am game to put the tuner on or not now

I really need to spend time learning how to shoot the bloody thing...

Kenny with our 7 mil versions on the 9.3 case, like yours i would suspect, there is about a 2 full grain accuracy window from 50 to 52 grains of 2209. Below and beyond is not so hot looking. With the tuner you will find that that accuracy window opens up to over 6 grains and is only really limited by what the brass can sustain. The 30 cal version i run with the tuner has no bad spot at all.
With your 7 AV, you will have to trust me when i say profile the barrel to get the thing into weight. It will shoot better with the tuner than without it and it will transfer all that weight back to the rear which will help with that driving difficulty you are experiencing. The tube must control the barrel, not the other way round. The dog must wag the tail so to speak. Recent profiles we are using are very slender and what we have found is the more slender they are, to a point, and the larger the tube diameter is, the bigger the accuracy window becomes. The recent 1.35 inch group shot at 600 with my HG was done with a barrel profile that would fit into most hunting stocks, but the tube was a 2 inch diameter and machined true to the centre to eliminate any eccentricity. The tune window was endless and the only limitation was the brass and me as the driver. The truth is that the barrel was one of Mastins discarded FB barrels, so that in itself confirms to us the abilities of tubes.
