Wild Dog stocks.

Post by Rolcar52 »

G'day all,
Has any one used a Wild Dog stock. I'm thinking of fitting a Varmint stock to my .22/250 Remington and a Tactical to my .308 Remington.

Regards Rolfy.

G'Day Rolf,
a mate of mine has just had Pro-cal build him a F class rifle with their tactical stock. Very nice piece of kit and the rifle was shooting around 0.25moa of a bipod and bench. So they work damn well from what i can see!

Personal preference, but I bought a McMillan A5 and a Manners T2A.... no Wild Dog stocks for me! There were reasons why, but I will not discuss them on a open forum.

If you like them, get one... but when there is mcMillan and Manners....................!

G'day all,
I also liked the Manners T4A stocks but how or who can get them into Austraila for you , at $ 615.00 US by the time it gets here and everyone gets their cut it would cost about $1200.00 here I think.

Just order from them directly, Tom was great to deal with, I think he even still has the original B709A form that I sent over hehe I took part in a group buy on snipers hide recently for the Manners-T3 and was here in about 2 months, just remember though, if you hit 1k AUD, you pay GST on the import

I have the Wild Dog SA TA1 on my custom Stiller . Very impressed with it . Solid , comfortable and well finished . I had excellent service from Steve and Don and would buy another stock from them in an instant despite what the naysayers here think . Would put the local product up against McMillan or Manners with confidence . Shits on an HS IMO (I have had two HS stocks).

Bushchook I'm not getting into the debate about which stock works best, but just wanted to say your stock is pleasing on the eye, I like the adjustable cheek peice. Looks the goods!!

Cheers Mick.

BC I have heard good reports from owners when the topic is raised but I had a different experience with them customer service wise and you could say "I cracked the shits!" They arent cheap but then with the dollar falling imports wont be just as cheap as they were anymore

G'day bushchook,
That's a good looking outfit. Is the stock the standard black Wild Dog finish? Did you get it bedded? How does it shoot?

Trevor ,
Have heard good and bad about their customer service but they really went out of their way to help me . I changed my mind about 4 times on style and colour before finally settling on a black SA TA1 . Was originally going thumbhole and wanted black to contrast my planned beadblasted stainless metal finish . Eventually went with Duracoat black metal and probably should have gone with their Grass 1 or 2 stock colour .
Wild Dog are a small outfit and I found that sometimes they didn't reply to emails for a couple of days . Too busy making stocks . I received mine in about 3 - 4 weeks but may have been lucky I think .

Rolcar ,
Yes that is the standard black finish . Rifle shoots in the 3's off a bipod with good projectiles and no fancy case preparation . Could probably do better off a benchrest . Shane Clancy bedded the stock .

G'Day all,
that Wild dog stock of Bush Chooks looks to be identical to my mate's one that PVM from Pro-Cal built and I have witnessed damn near BR level accuracy out of that rifle off a bipod and bench.

Wild Dog stocks are capable of preforming as good as any other stocks out there and they are one of the few local manufacturers in Aus. I'm just reporting what I saw from a great shooter with great equipment and bullets.
