Tell me about it. That shop was Rob's fathers. It used to be a glass merchants!Herbs wrote:You really, really did not need to tell me that. Soooooo tempted. Rehbeins isn't too bad, I bought a couple of .303s from Rob a couple of months ago, though his shop needs a bit of a refurb.Sir Snipealot wrote:There is one is one of these in Rehbeins at the moment.Herbs wrote:Think I'd be happy with a Savage model 25 in .204 R with the thumbhole stock.
I reckon it feels a little nicer then the thumbhole stock that I have in .17HMR, even though they are supposedly the same.
I think there might be a little more length in the butt, and also the cheek peice sits a little higher.
It is much lighter then the HMR. It would make a great feild rifle.

Me thinks the Blaser offroad pro in .243 with custom tactical stock. This way I could buy the 30-06 barrel aswell and just have the one awesome gun. Haven't got $5,000.00 though

Re: Factory Varmint Rifle You Must Have?
Always wanted a Sako Varmint Model 75 and finally picked one up second hand in 22-250. It had only had 100 rounds put through it and was in excellent condition. It is in stainless steel with synthetic stock. Shoots well....have played around with handloads and have a 40gr Nosler BT load that is great on foxes. Loves Winchester USA brand 45gr HP factory ammo....will put 3 bullets into sub 0.5 MOA at 100m if i can hold it steady enough. Started with a Leupold VX II 4-12x40 on it and have now put a VX III 6.5-20x50 on it....the perfect varmint set up i believe. Can drop crows consistently out to 220m with it and the furtherest i hit a fox with it was 275m. Most are shot around 200m-250m. Want to work up a 50gr load now for the windy days and use the 40gr load for foxes while out spotligting.

For me it would be a CZ 550 Varmint Laminated in .22-250, topped off with a Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56
