Carl,
Very, Very nice. That is certainly a nice looking piece of timber in that Bruno.

Re: Show us your 22LR
Thanks guys, I purchased it mid last year and I'm sure glad that my mate convinced me to get it over the synthetic/nickel model I had my eyes on. It comes away to my girlfriends dads property in Tenterfield twice yearly and a few trips out past Dunedoo each year and it is perfect on rabbits, hares and the odd fox that isn't too far out. The only thing I don't like is the fact that I have to be so very carefull as to not knock it around because I think I'd cry if I damaged the wood on it

Of course you would cry, I'd break your legs if you hurt it
Re: Show us your 22LR
Thats why I like having two the same, one nice looking one and a rough but accurate one.Carl223 wrote:...the fact that I have to be so very carefull as to not knock it around because I think I'd cry if I damaged the wood on it
Funny how there are so many Lithgow .22s still in regular use. Saw a heap at the Penrith gun show on the weekend. One bloke said he had others he would break as there is more need for parts than whole rifles.

Re: Show us your 22LR
There not all .22LR, but the Combo is a .22LR/20GA and the CZ 452 Deluxe is a .22LR. The otehr two are my .177 air rifles. Enjoy!!

G'day Quick,
No1 Mk111*, BSA 1918, so no magazine cutoff
Looks great & will have its first outing today for a bit of a target shoot.

Nice mate, keep us posted, the No 1 MKIII* is on my 'to acquire' list. Could you tell us what sort of groups you are getting with it?

Re: Show us your 22LR
Yes, I'm impressed mate, It's not a gun you would take out hunting all the time, but thats not the reason I bought it, I really got it for the history of the rifle & Australia's association with it, & to preserve that side of things......having said that, its a hell of a lot of fun to shoot & would be great for the odd feral goat at a medium distance with the iron sights (my eyes ain't what they used to be).
If you can get hold of a good one with a decent barrel, grab it, I know you want one, cos I've seen your post on the lee enfield forum you won't regret it.
As far as groups go....well i've yet to get down to a range, just took it out bush on Saturday to see how it went initially, but could get 3 out of 5 into a soup can at 50m from a standing position will give it a real go from a proper distance when I get a chance
Cheers,
Dave

Re: Show us your 22LR
Nice cruisey, I have a lithgow 1919 that never seen service, re-built at lithgow in 1956 but can I shoot it? Nah!!
Re: Show us your 22LR
Ill get some pics up over the next couple of days of the 452e varmint and the slazenger but my first LR was a lithgow 1B single shot that I found on a deceased estate whilst working as a removalist. Butt was snapped off behind the pistol grip (probably used it to whack a snake) but the action and barrel was mint with the white and yellow paint on the sights and cocking mechanism. Shot well but had to get rid of it unfortunately

Re: Show us your 22LR
I'm with you Model 70, when I said I got 3 out of 5 into the can, I didn't mention the other 9 groups of 5 rounds I shot that were shite ! Shhhh
Re: Show us your 22LR
I got my hands on this gun just after I got my license again about 7 yrs ago. Took it to malabar, laid down on the bindiis in the heat with no rest and let loose! I spent most of the day there and after 70 rounds I ended up with 23 on paper at 100m and a sore shoulder!
