Hey guys,
I've been looking for some tumbling media and it appears that most use english walnut or corn cob.
I was looking for some opinions on using polenta?
$17 for 10 Lbs, it looks like good value compared to the others, just not sure on whether it would be okay to use?
Opinions?
Thanks guys.
Polenta as tumbling media
Re: Polenta as tumbling media
Hey mate,
As an abbrasive i guess it would be okay, cant say i have ever used it as a tumbling medium, however leaving it unopened quickly softens it so im not sure how long it would last in a dumbler in a moist warm environment. For what it costs it may be worth just giving it a go and letting us know how it works

I have used white rice with a dash of non-ammonia based metal polish in the past .. it works well and is big enough to not get stuck in flash holes

Yea, been using rice for years.
Works just as well as tumbling media like walnut husks and corn cobb.

Re: Polenta as tumbling media
Would rice not have the same absorbtion qualities as polenta?
It sounds like the go, but for $10 a bag for the walnut or corn cob stuff that I can tumble around 700 cases in I think Id stick with it.
