500m FLY Congrats AGAIN
Re: 500m FLY Congrats AGAIN
Well done to Ian on his 261. We were battling the crappy conditions during 1K today when late this afternoon Ian gave us a call after just getting his score agg. Good to see you got all the "details" right Ian. See you in July in Townsville.

Re: 500m FLY Congrats AGAIN
Having congratulated Ian at the shoot on a sterling performance I would like to point out that ..
1. Conditions whilst not horrendous were not easy and a tricky verticle condition kept most shooters transfixed all day.
2. A score of 261.4 is now (unless I am mistaken) the Australian high score record for Fly.
I thought Barry Tucker shot very well for around 230 and was very unlucky, as that score would win more often than not. Malcolm Ambrose continued to improve with a solid result in the 220 area, good effort Malcolm.
Sean Ambrose is now looking for a second job as his young lady shot the rimfire Saturday morning and when the centrefires came out was an avid watcher until Chris (festa) offered her a shot with his 6.5-284 Light gun which she proved adept with. Not to be outdone by a light gun I had to give her a shot of the big 300 which resulted in an immediate order for a Heavy Gun being placed with Sean ... so anyone with a bit of extra work can contact Sean he needs the money for a Heavy gun for Leanne ..
For those wanting some more bad news Ian Davis has been having some issues with his reloading dies despite scoring 251 & 261 at his first two shoots with the new rifle. I think we worked those issues out the other day and he will be able to load much more concentric ammo and resolve some issues with neck tension as a result, so its only going to get harder to beat him with more consistant ammo.
For those that don't know Ian, he is a bloody nice bloke and I could not be happier for him with these results coming to someone who puts so much effort into his shooting.
cheers
