Righto you lot! Seeing nobody is talking.
I want to put a Bipod under my Theoben Rapid MK1. I have the means to mount it ok,Whitey got me a clever bottle clamp which is ideal for the job. So I want opinions on which Bipod would be the best for the rifle. I am interested in one that would swivel and with notched legs 9-12 inch. yep I know Harris make one but are there any better units around?

Re: Which Bipod
Harris are good so is rockmount, the swivel ones are the ONLY ones that I would buy after using them they make life a hell of a lot easier especially on uneven ground!

Amen to that kjd! After using a fixed Harris 9-12 with a mate,s CZ .17 HMR, I felt like I had strained something in my neck because of uneven ground. So won,t be going with one like it.

Exactly what KJD said, once you have the tilting model you will not go back to the rigid model.

Re: Which Bipod
We got a couple of the ones similar to (the same as?) those that Highland Sports is selling (about $99.00) and I got one to try on my HW100T, It's a bit rough in places, the swivel area isn't all that well machined but the rest is good. It has a couple of advantages over the Harris and it's clones in as much as there are no springs to go "sproing!!!" when you lower the legs into the shooting position. It will also pan left to right as well as tiltover sideways. The leg assembly can be removed from the base that fits onto the rifle by pushing down on a single clip and then sliding the leg assy off a pin, no screws to undo.
At something like half the price of some of the other bipods on the market (the Shooter's Ridge" swivel and tilt pod sells for something like $160.00), I rekon it's a good buy. Check one out at your friendly neighbourhood firearms dealer soon. Ours came from "Aqusport" up Brisbane way.
