A bit of a yarn:
Reading Doug's range problem makes me realize how lucky I am to have more than one range.
This last week I have spent in The Snowy Mountains 5 hours to the south with a mate Rob on his farm which adjoins the famous Snowy Mountains National Park with its ski fields. With winter coming on we were blessed with Sunday through Thursday as perfect sunny days and little wind..

It consists of 5 shots with the prototype 18.1 gr JSB .22 Exacts 915 fps and 5 shots with 15.9 gr JSB Exacts 948 fps. Both pellets hold the same zero at 50 yards and 100 yards but the heavier pellet has a higher BC and carries a couple of fpe more down range. They shoot to the same line in dead air. The rifle was zeroed for 50 yards and the ten shots were made with the POA at 12.75" above the centre of where the group formed. The heavy pellets were shot first and the holes joined with a green line. The light pellets' holes are interlaced with those.
The new Aussie bush bench rest was then constructed: Rob puts the finishing touches to the bench. It should about last me out. Rob is in his early 60's and may need another. He is a great shot and an ex dual Olympic Judo player:
The first two groups shot at 100 yards from the new bench with BSA Hornet JB OZ 1 and JSB Exact 15.9 gr pellets at 948 fps 31.7 fpe.
The first measures 0.85", 21.6 mm, the second was spoiled by; yes, this time it was the 5 th shot but not a flier, just my mistake with the 2 o'clock wind gust. I was disappointed:

We arrived back last night with Fallow venison for our freezers.
