Re: So how did you guys go at canberra??
What an enjoyable, relaxed and interesting weekend!
Congratulations and well done to Jagen Peet, Peter Van Meurs and the dirty dozen for their efforts in the fly on saturday.
Also great, to see so many 1st time fly shooters as well. I hope they enjoyed the experience and come back for future shoots.
From memory. I can't recall a fly event when so many competitors score over 200 points, AMAZING !!!
Jacko is to be commended for flying from brisbane to melbourne and then driving to canberra, and then having to retrace his journey immediately after the event.
A pretty big effort in my opinion!!!
Motel Majura also had record numbers staying there, and given the increasing popularity of fly and 1000yd events, we might need to book early in future.
Thanks Rinso, for the opportunity to fire a few shots through the 6x47 lapua.
Shane is to be congratulated for his gunsmithing efforts.
When three or four shooters, without sighters or any practise shots can shoot a random target at 500m and have all but one shot land in a group with under 1" vertical, i am inclined to accept and be convinced that it has " accuracy potential".
Well done also, to max coady's bench for easily taking out the "most in line" flag arrangement award.
Despite some tricky and and at times, heatbreaking conditions at the 1000 on sunday,Peter Van Meurs, Jacko and Shane all shot superbly. Top stuff gentlemen!!!
Thanks also to all the organisers and scorers for both events at the weekend. Especially, Jim Mckinley, Dave Groves, Mick Easton, Richard Wild, Hans Hoitink and the "the cooks". Apologies if i have ommitted anyone.
cheers

Great to see such good numbers at these matches. When you do eventually get the 600 matches up and running you won't know what hit you. This is by far the best match of of all.

Shit look at that first photo, thats what happens when Rinso sneaks up you!
Yeh Tony its a sleeved rem and like Trev said its in 7mm STW.
A few more little fine tunes and and ill see what it wants to do.
Problem is my rifles end up like the mechanics car, the last thing to get worked on right before the shoot.
cheers,
Shane
PS Yes Woob lot of trees.
