Detachable Magazine Systems
How many of you guys would be interested in a detachable magazine system for your rifle? Maybe one for Winchester, Howa, FN, Remington?????
How about in 223, where the magazine holds a good 8+ rounds? How about 10 rounds in a 308 System? Magnum, and 338LM 5 round magazines too?
I may have a special surprise for you guys coming up real soon..... interested?
Cheers

Re: Detachable Magazine Systems
Could be interesting for a Remmy. So it replaces the hinged floorplate, is it available in stainless?

Hardened aluminium... but they are usually coated to tacticool black. Maybe able to get one not coated, polish it, and then cover it in clear duracoat. Magazines will be black though.
This could be a interesting adventure...
What calibers would most interest be?

Re: Detachable Magazine Systems
At very early stages, but I am recieving some sample gear very soon. I can not tell to much as yet, other than its based on a very reliable system.
I do not know what is going to become available to start with, most likely Remington based, but other DBM to suit other brand rifles will be manufactured.
Here is a sneak preview. This is a prototype, edges are not rounded and its not coated. Thats a 10 round magazine in it!
Cheers

Yes, that is right.. they are available from different sources, one is new to the market, the other very difficult to get hold of. I also believe this stuff will be cheaper...... and the magazines are interchangable with another manufacturer!
What they do not offer is for other brands of rifles.......
This stuff will be very good.
Cheers

Re: Detachable Magazine Systems
Quite interested, AI.
I wonder if it would work on a Weatherby/Howa in416AS (300WSM expanded)?
Cheers,

Re: Detachable Magazine Systems
17Hmr.... I have not heard on Browning... can ask.
Woob.. it may work. Using the standard magazine, the Howa footprinted BM may work. The magazine will need the tabs openned up for the WSM case, and if you use a 10 shot magazine, you'll most likely get a good 7-8 rounds in it! The only down side would be seating depth, as you can only load to the magazine length.
This thread is to get the feelers out. If all goes to plan, we may organise a group buy on these. We'll see how we go!
Cheers

Re: Detachable Magazine Systems
something for a NRA 80 grain 223 length loaded round might be nice
Allow you to have plenty of room to load 204's and match 223's and standard 223's all in the one magazine.
A PPC magazine to suit the small sako 461, A1 or 491 action
I already use Tikka actions for their magazine feed
a magazine to suit the Tikkas that start off single stack but once the clear the bottom of the action go to double stack might be a nice thing
If I had the $$ I would have SC build me several Predator repeaters using 10 round detachable magazines in .223 AI, 6BR 6.5 Grendel, 30BR and 338 Federal.

If they are cheap I could make my 204 look really tacticool, but purely for show, I dont need the mag capacity as I spend too much time chasing the anally prepped hunting brass around to eject rapid fire!

Re: Detachable Magazine Systems
Shane's about to start building me a 300WSM on a Rem 700 action, so if you have anything that would take those, I'd be interested.
