this is a half sized arse compared to hers
P
She must be a stunner...!

Nailed my first AG cane toad this arvo. I usually target them with diluted detol in a spray bottle, but the way it jumped when hit by the pellet was even more satisfying.

CB,
I had many a pleasurable airgun toad hunt in my youth!
There are two spots to kill them immediately.
Along the spine where the neck would be if shooting from behind and the circular spot behind the eye if shooting side on.
Both shots kill instantly and they stretch out like an ironing board.
Even a Gecado 22 used to work if these spots were hit!!

Thanks for the toad tip Lewis. I hate the little buggers (nearly lost a dog to one a couple of years ago) & I kill every one I can.

I take it you used a torch or spotlight at night-time as you don't often see them in the day.

ps. Used one of the Kodiak pellets you sent me & it was devastating to the toad.
:)

We usually went out in pairs.
They are dreadful things.I remember they used to eat dog food and swim in the dog's water.

As of last night I can ad the light in the halway. Long story and I can tell you the wife is not happy.
I think we should ad a list of house hold fittings that we have shot and not told the wife.

My top 5

1...the first thig that enters my yard
2. .......
3.. .......
4. ........
5. the last thing that enters my yard

I like to keep my options open!

As for household fittings, I used to practice on clothsline pegs, spoons in the ground face up, screwdriver handles.. whatever I could lay my hands on, and what ever dad could lay his hands on me for doing!! ha ha. Tewnty odd years on and he still wants to thrash me for it.

Lewis is spot on for kill zones on toads, don't know how many of them I have put down myself. Lewis you must have lived up north at some stage to know toads that well?

3. Fox (waiting for my .223)
4. Crow (when I am bored, couple a week)
5. Pigeon (not since I was a kid, when I had an air rifle)

Went out yesterday arvo with a mate of mine and walking along the river spotted a fox sitting 30-35mts away, I had the theoben MFR .22 with me and had just shot it in 30 minutes earlier and it was shooting half inch high at 20mtrs just incase I had a crack at something a bit out there.
well to cut the story short ,ole foxy just sat there on a tree stump and i had a rock steady lean and could see his wiskers movin, sat the cross hairs level with the top of his head and squeezed the trigger, the Beeman kodiak went just over his head and i knew I should have just put the cross hairs directly on his forehead.
Lesson learnt, would have left me with only the hare to get.
Thems the breaks.

don't worry mate we out the sarvo and he missed one from about 20-25 mts away. then he redeemed himself with a good shot on a hare from about 35-40 mts

I've shot all bar the fox. I have had the pleasure to shoot a few European magpies over here which I might add are an absolute PIA. Imagine a crow the size of a magpie with the aggression of mike tyson on methamphetamines. No birds enter the yard while these buggers are about.
