G'day trev,
the 3 main go to powders for the 6ppc are BM1, BM2, and vit V133. I've had good results from all but mainly use BM2 as it fills the case nicely and meters though a powder measure nicely too for accurately metered loads.

Other powders that have been used are 2207 (a bit too fast) and 2206. If you want to try 2207 or 2206, I've got some you can try if you like. No point buying a full tin only to find it wont work in your rifle.

Many shooters used H322 prior to V133 and in the states it was very popular, but now i think they mainly use V133 with a few using Benchmark (BM2) and H322. Some shooters have had mixed results from H322 (2219) with variable burn rates some years ago and it might be better now (and the odd batch of BM2) but try it and if it works feed the beast what it likes, no point forcing it to eat what it dont like!

67gn elfs are a real honest bullet too. Most of my barrels shoot those good enough to compete with. And I've seen too many good groups with sierra 70gn MK's and consider them as an emergency back up if the elfs run out!

Primers, fed205match or cci match with a few using winchester, fed 205 and rem 7 1/2. I think from memory the cci's are ever so slightly larger in diameter to the feds and sometimes we use them to ensure a tight fitting primer as the primer pockets loosens!

Ned

I used those 70MK's for fireforming... they were not to bad at all... definitely better than half MOA!

G'Day AI,
I initially used them when I started BR shooting and in a 3500+ maddco would agg in the 0.3's and with new barrels easily shoot around .25moa or better.

I've even seen my mate Dazza shoot the sierra 60gn HP fire forming loads in his 6ppc, go less than 0.2 moa!

Ned I have 2207 for the 17m4. I wont try 2206 as if it really likes it then it will piss me off when its gone and discontinued. I might try the N powder as its supposed to be good in the 204 aswell

Thanks for your help

I havwe some spare BM2 if you want to use that.
I'm using R-10X in the 6 BR and still using factory in the 223 so it's just sitting there

Any chance of borrowing a few of 204 and PPC cases so I can confirm magazine function?? This W/E???

G'Day trev,
you could try the 2206H instead......but only if the BM1, BM2, 2219 or v133 dont work.

Cheerio Ned
