I think this competition is shit
I mean no cats in an aussie varmint shooting comp, you bunch of fairies
I can email a life sized rabbit target (A4) and a lifesized cat target (A3) that i made up a few years ago.
I think i sent the rabbit to knackers and i know i sent them to Keith to put up on AV but the slackarse hasnt done that yet, like hes got anything better to do
Great idea AI I have been planning something similar up here except the shot has to be taken out of a window on a 4wd using a door rest and long shots leaning on the bonnet. When the air temp is 50degrees beleive me you dont want to lay on the ground.

Guys
Sorry its been a bit slow, been real busy with work, and getting ready for the upcoming comp.
I am at the stage of target design, so put any ideas forward!
Cat
Crow
Rabbit
Small bird....
Must make them printer friendly as well. Might have a search tonight for some targets.
Once things settle down, we'll get this little comp up and running.
Cheers

Ok
So we want to run this at 100m, 200m , and 300m.
A small bird target at 100m.
A crow or rabbit target at 200m, and
A cat or fox target at 300m.
I had the idea of small bird at 100m, crow at 200m and rabbit at 300m. This was to make the targets smaller and hard to hit. I suppose we could use reduced size targets of foxes/cats etc for the ranges.
Cheers

This is a great idea, I'd also like to see something like the "steel safari" here in Australia as well.
I've knocked a couple of targets for review. I've just used composition images, if they're ok I'll buy the print quality (300dpi) images for the A4 size targets.
Final versions would be created in illustrator (so that the rings have a consistent thickness) and to maintain the correct target size when printing. If it's going to be a postal, details box can be added easy enough.
3mm vital is the eye, though that would keep it interesting if you shoot too high you could miss out on the 1 point altogether. safer shot is lower but the higher score is the tempter. 5 per page.
I've cut ears, tail feathers and legs out of the 1 point area, because you'd normally need a follow up shot to finish the animal. maybe subtract 1 point for these "wounds"?
thoughts?
