Does Taipan still make projectiles

Post by The Raven »

I discovered a box of 500 Taipan projectiles in my collection and am not sure where I got them.

I tried to look them up but it appears they ceased trading around 2022. Is that correct?

How good are they?

Mate I think they shut up shop years ago, pretty sure someone purchased all their equipment but can’t recall who that was.

Best I could find was that there was a well intentioned but failed restart mixed in with some breakins and thefts at the factory. Made it all too difficult to restart production with the last production appearing to be around 2022.

They were pretty good at ‘normal’ velocities. Not always as good/consistent at high velocities (Weatherby speeds).
What cal and weight?

Most likely to be used for bunnies/foxes or killing paper.

They would be good on rabbits/foxes/paper at any speed. 👍

I bought about 3000 of his rejects of those pills when he was closing up and had used 6000 of the good ones in years previous all put through my 22-204.
They went well in it and were accurate and I now use them in the .223.
If you want to sell them let me know.
Cheers.

Good to hear they are OK. I have no idea if mine are seconds or not but the very faded box was sealed until I opened it.

Haven't got around to using them yet but if you are keen on them let me know. Happy to do a swap of some kind if that suits.
