A good mate of mine recently brought home his dad’s old Mossberg 46B 22lr.
Interesting design with a 15 round tube mag and a kicker that flicks the rounds up to align with the chamber:
He ordered a Havlin side mount from Brownells:
Then removed the open sights, bought some Leupold rings and a Vortex Crossfire scope, and turned up this morning to zero it in.
The Loopy rings had the scope sitting way up in the air so I offered him some very low old school Weaver mounts.
We zeroed with these - reckon he has had them for a while:
Then settled in to see how it would group with a few different loads.
So rounds of choice are PowerPoint 40gn HP, and CCI subsonic HP.

Looks great and shoots well.
Been a while since K Mart used that logo and sold 22LR at that price. In fact, I can't recall the last time I saw any ammo for sale at K Mart....

Re: Mossberg 46B 22lr
ive got a 42B with the side mount, low mount rings.
mine has battle sights and multi pin front sights.
7 round mag
and will put all 7 in a 50c piece all day, using wini 40gn hp subs.
the stock on mine came up brilliant after a good rub down and a BLO job
its been a few yrs since that and the stock has darkened and looks amazing.
i got my spare parts from havlin sales in the US, i couldnt tell you if they export any more.
i am more than happy with my rifle,as you will be.
im still using the vortex scope the rep gave me,back when advertisers were allowed on here.

Hey Lonerider it would be great to see some pics of yours, sounds great.
My mate used his out after a few rabbits during the week, he was very happy with how it performed. He sent this pic
