That has come up well. It's a bit hard to tell for sure but does the top line of the forend almost meet the top line of the barrel contour? Does the stock top line need to be taken down a little?
It sounds like you are going to install one of your thermo scopes on it?

It does look that way, but if you look at the action, I think the front is bedded deeper than the rear Easy fix, just raise the barrel at the tip of the fore end, then re bed so it is even.
Not sure but I think it’s level.
Certainly the inletting around the top section is level between the front and rear sections of the mounting area for the rail. Not sure why it looks out across the entire length though.

I am thinking of smart arse ways of describing the barrel sitting below the level of the forend tip and the suitability of the look accompanying a zasty but I find myself resisting the urge as I’m sure I would lose in any battle over whose technical or practical prowess is greater

My biggest issue in fitting the action was getting it deep enough without being set too far below the woodwork and being able to get the magazine release to work constantly without having to jiggle things around with my tongue hanging out the corner of my mouth. I settled for the lesser of two evils (in my mind).
Once I got the action deep enough for that to work it was more a case of finishing and oiling than worrying too much about where the barrel sat within the forend (and obviously making sure it was floated).
If I had a workshop (and more skills)I could probably have worked on it a bit more to get it looking more normal.

Easy fix, just raise the barrel at the tip of the fore end, then re bed so it is even.
