After information on setting up a bench rest type platform on top of the Gorilla "Ladder" . It may have been discussed earlier sometime but just can't find anything ATM.
Existing "Commercial" unit is wobbly & doesn't cut the mustard for me.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
Barry

Thanks Andrew - what thickness of the ply did you use & have you found it steady so far.
The Caldwell , sort of a long story & one of a number of generally poor options I have taken in "latter" years.
Lets just say I have nicknamed it the "wobble Bench" for a good reason & from hanging & attaching bricks to it , using the thickest ply I could find & other devious attempts at improving it just hasn't worked.
Here's just one example of my unhappiness of the wobbler.
You can see what I mean now , eh.

Shooting Platform & Gorilla "ladder"
I used 12mm MDF but have noticed most use 19mm. I covered it with some rubber matting which helps things grip a bit.
Are you using the locking hooks at the top of the legs? I once found the bench was wobbly because I forgot to lock them. It’s also worth kicking the legs out when positioning it.
I see you’ve already drilled extra holes for the leg adjustment. Good idea.
I noticed your bench legs look very vertical. The newer benches have the legs kicked out some.

Shooting Platform & Gorilla "ladder"
Just finished mine Barry. Go to Bunnings and get the gorilla on for $60. It has catches on the legs that make it more rigid. Plus the legs go out past 90°
