Thanks. That helps. Luckily I have the 4WD Supa Centre warehouse about 20 mins from home. I’m planning to get a solar panel and battery setup from them for Christmas.

I was also checking if you bought a GenPower brand off eBay. Mine worked well until a poorly installed connector came loose and (I suspect) toasted the capacitor. Gotta find someone who’s got the knowledge and time to fix it for me.

I am also running a Kings solar blanket (200W) it seems to do the job in that it has kept the 100Ah battery topped with the camping fridge and camp lighting running.

For good measure i gave it a run over the last couple of days too.

I think that the only camping stuff were didn't use were the tent, swags and camp chairs.

We do, but it was full of tree branches and such at the time.

Well this one seems to keep up with the fridge and lights and packs up small so it's ok by me.

I have a genset that ran for three hours before toasting a poorly connected plug. I suspect it toasted a cap in the potted box of tricks.

If someone wants to tinker with it I’d much appreciate it. Would even sling some dollars at it....remembering it’s a $200 genny.

BTW it’s a 3000 Powergen (3 phase and 3 x 240v outlets).

Yep it’s a Honda copy engine from what I can tell.

I bought a second hand 3.2kva quadra ,which is an aussie built honda powered unit for $60 off fleabay years ago, then discovered why it was $60, dam thing had pitting in the cylinder liner, anyway picked up an old honda water pump with the same motor !!!! for free, so changed the crankshaft over from the original motor as that was the only difference and got a perfect generator now. and yes I too have a chinese 2.4kva generator, which has only been stated once then cleaned and stored, Hmmmm do I keep both or sell one ????
